Sweet Family

No pictures - except in my mind. Matt, Suzanne and family sang "I'm trying to be like Jesus" in church this morning. Suzanne had all the boys wearing spring sweater vests. Joey stopped singing because he was more interested in the podium or something on it. Isaac was just a little too far from the microphone. Thomas, who loves music, knew all the words; so he helped Mom and Dad. It was adorable.

But Anna was the charmer. One of the young women made sweet faces and wiggled her head at Anna. Anna copied her. It looked like she was trying to sing also. Perhaps she was. The entire congregation lit up in a joint smile. The Bishop said he winked at Anna and thought she tried to wink back.

If videos were appropriate, it would be priceless to have one of this moment. So I will just have to memorize this one forever.

Snow, Snow, Snow and King of the Mountain

Can you see big brothers in the distance (you may need to click on the photo to see them well)?

This mountain of snow is the result of the parking lot snow being pushed to this side of the pavement. It had been much higher, but rain and a warm spell helped reduce it.

Thomas started to sink into the snow & Daddy had to come to the rescue.

Isaac wanted me to catch his jump in Mid-Air. My photo does not do his feat justice.

From "Chill" to "Cold"

It is hard to believe that I just returned from a visit with Julie in Southern California and only to return to snow, snow, and more snow. But that is just the way it is.

Not that is feels frigid - it doesn't. We actually had all the snow off the lawn for the first time since before Christmas. But the following day - more snow. I am thankful for a week in the sun. Julie took me to see the Pacific Ocean. It was fun to watch families playing on the beach, to see the buggy boards, and watch a very cool dog race to catch the waves. I only took a few pictures and really wish I had more. Julie has a nice little patio. She wants to post photos of her apartment after she hangs her photos.
We took the dog for a walk in a nearby park. The goose was honking like crazy and walked right up to a lady (out of sight) on the blanket.

Fort Frederick Maryland

Martin Harry served as a Sergeant guarding prisoners here during the Revolutionary War under Captain John Kershner. The fort's exterior lines are 355 feet from bastion point to bastion point. The fortification is one of the largest built by English conlonists in North America. The stone wall is about 18 feet high. At least three major buildings originally stood inside the wall.

The fort was started in 1756 at the time of the French and Indian War. There is a fair amount of information about the fort on the internet. The pictures I have are from reinactments at the Fort. Someday it would be interesting to take a family trip to see a reinactment.

This is a sketch titled "Ruins of Fort Frederick, Washington Co., Maryland July 24, 1858".
